The police department community relations crime prevention unit offers assistance and programs to help residents to promote safety. Commitment is not only through dedicated programs, but also through foot patrol, community presentations to residents, businesses, and children.

The Officer Friendly Program is focused on Stranger-Danger to children attending pre-school in Lindenhurst.

A DNA kit is provided to citizens for the purpose of gathering DNA samples. This kit is to be kept in a safe and secure place so it can be used in the event it is needed to assist police with an investigation. This form and kit may be picked up during normal business hours.

Station Tours for various groups such as Boy Scout Dens and Girl Scout Troops. Contact the clerk on duty to schedule a tour of our facility which includes the cell and squad car. Tours are scheduled on an appropriate day and time as allows.

Lindenfest Officers not only are involved in extra patrol during Lindenfest activities, but also participate in various activities throughout the annual fest on Village hall grounds Officers will assist the fundraiser known as "Dunk A Cop" and act as "Bingo callers".

Shop with a Cop The Lindenhurst Police Department along with donations from residents and businesses, sponsor the Shop With a cop program for children needing assistance for purchases of items during the holiday season. Children are selected through area school systems and the township office.

Life Jacket Program The Lindenhurst Police Department provides a medical information card jacket to residents upon their request. This "jacket" is to be posted on the refrigerator for easy accessibility by emergency response personnel so that medical and/or emergency contact information is needed.
