The Utility Department is comprised of a Superintendent, ten full-time and two to three part-time employees. The Water Department has numerous responsibilities including maintenance and operation of five well houses, nine wells two elevated water storage tanks, five chemical feed systems for chlorine, five chemical feed systems for polyphosphate, approximately 35 miles of water mains, approximately 400 fire hydrants approximately 3,500 B-boxes and water meters, 7 department vehicles and one combination backhoe/loader.
The sewer division has numerous responsibilities including maintenance and operation of a 2 million gallons daily wastewater treatment facility; eleven-wastewater pumping stations, approximately 35 miles of sanitary sewers, and shares the same equipment with the water division.
